In 2022, gun violence in Philadelphia remained at record levels for the third straight year. Once known as the City of Brotherly Love, the feeling of love for one another has morphed into one of hate, misunderstanding, indifference – and even deeper, a trend of systemic, institutional racism which has been a driving force of gun violence within the city’s most impoverished neighborhoods and communities.
With 512 homicides reported in 2022, along with nearly 1,800 people shot, something different had to be done. A different perspective.
A different approach. Our client, the Philadelphia Eagles, had been watching from the sidelines as death after death rose year after year, with the team itself directly impacted by the senseless violence. It was time for the Eagles to transcend fandom and recreate an even more impactful role in the communities they adore.
